Barbara Morgan Obituary

Barbara Jean Morgan (1943-2025)
Barbara Jean Morgan, 82, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister,
and friend, passed away at her home in Glencoe, California after a lengthy illness.
Born during a fierce blizzard in Morgan, Minnesota, Barbara grew up in Morgan, graduated
from Morgan High School in 1961, and began her career at the State Bank of Morgan. In
1963 she moved to California, where she would build her life and family. Over the next five
decades Barbara worked tirelessly outside the home—in banking, accounting, property
management, and, for the final twenty years, in construction management—retiring in 2007
after nearly 50 years of dedicated service.
On September 22, 1973, Barbara married the love of her life, Thomas Morgan. The early
years of their marriage were spent in Sonoma County, but they eventually settled in the
rolling green hills of Calaveras County, creating the peaceful paradise Barbara cherished.
There she thrived—tending abundant gardens; quilting beautiful heirloom pieces; cooking;
and opening their home for countless parties, holiday dinners, and neighbor get-togethers.
She also loved her ladies' lunch group. Barbara and Tom also loved to travel together,
making memories across the country and beyond. Above all, her greatest joy was time
spent with Tom and with her sprawling, cherished family—children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 47 years, Tom Morgan; her
parents, Marvin and Bertha Beltz; her brothers, Bob and Dick Beltz; and her grandson, TJ
Gavin.
She is survived by her brother, Jack Beltz (Carole); her precious friend Sherri Angeloni; her
dear cousin Diane Gluth; her beloved son, Brent (Vicki); Tom's daughters whom she loved
as her own, Diana, Donna Shelby (Todd), and Debbie (Tom); her cherished grandchildren,
Kyrie, Annika (Christian), Ben (Diehl), David (Kaeli), Andria (Jason), Christopher, Kira,
Kristen (Jake), Eric, Ashley, and Sean; her adored great-grandchildren, Ayden, Ethan,
Madelyn, McKaitlee, Raelee, Brynlee, Levi, Tessa, Liam, and Jeremiah; and many loving
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Barbara's warmth, generosity, and love will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply
missed by her family, friends, and community. A Celebration of Life will be held in early 2026.
