Mrs. Donna Marie Powers

Donna Marie Stowell Powers, age 91, of Valley Springs, California, passed
away peacefully on November 3, 2024, at St. Joseph's Hospital in
Stockton, California, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 4, 1933, in Baker, Oregon, Donna moved with her family
to the Linden area as a young child. She attended local schools and
graduated from Linden High School in 1951, where she was a proud
member of the school band, playing clarinet.

Donna's life was shaped by her deep love for her family and her devotion to faith. In November 1952,
after the love of her life, Jesse Gene Powers, returned home from serving in Korea, they married in the
Linden Methodist Church. Their love and partnership endured for 54 years until Jesse's passing in 2007.
Together, they raised five children on the family ranch in Valley Springs, where Donna lived until her
death.
A cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Donna found joy in family gatherings
and treasured the time spent with her loved ones. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in
Stockton for 66 years and was also involved in the Stone Corral Church in her younger years. Her
kindness, faith, and strong sense of family will be remembered by all who knew her.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Roland E. Stowell and Essie "Marie" Stowell Cowles;
stepfather, Rev. Milton S. Cowles; her beloved husband, Jesse Gene Powers; her sister, Dottie Lenfestey

and brother-in-law Norman Lenfestey; her brother, Roland M. Stowell; her sister-in-law and brother-in-
law, Pat & Ted Salisbury; and her brother-in-law, Dale Powers. She was also preceded by her grandson,

Kelly Scott Powers Jr.; her nephews, James L. Powers & Michael Riggs; and niece, Marcella Ann Powers
Armstrong.
She is survived by her childhood friend and sister-in-law, Corinne Lenfestey Powers; her sister-in-law,
Nancy Stowell Freiberg; and daughter-in-law, Eileen Laidet. Donna is lovingly remembered by her
children: Kurt (Marlane), Kenneth, Kelly Scott (Kellymarie), Karen Powers-Pena (Luis D. Sr.), and Kreg
(Melissa), all of Valley Springs. She was the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren: Sarah (Phil) Valley,
Rebecca (Britton) Tucker, Kory (Alisha) Powers, CPO Daniel (Michelle) Powers, Marie (Joseph) Ferris,
Matthew Powers, Michael Powers, Luis David Pena Jr., Alisa Pena, Joseph Pena, Jesse (Morgan) Pena,
Jonathan Pena, Jordon Pena, and Audrey Powers. Donna was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren:
Jaryn Bishop, Caden Spurr, Masson & Shelby Powers, Abigail & Bethany Lester, Eli Ferris, Jenicka &
Julian Diaz, and Weston Pena.
Donna's legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate to
know her.
A graveside service will be held at Jenny Lind Cemetery on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
