Mr. Eugene Darold Deherrera

Eugene D. DeHerrera (Geno) was born in Sacramento, Ca on 09/27/1949 to Andreas and
Esther DeHerrera and entered peacefully into rest on 12/27/2024.
Geno was born into a family of nine boys. Geno served in the Vietnam war and later continued
his career in law enforcement where he served as Sheriff of Conejos County, Colorado for 8
years. He returned to California and joined the Probation Department in Calaveras County.
Geno later became part of the drug enforcement team for ten years where he worked
undercover fighting drug trafficking in Calaveras County. This was not the end for Geno as he
went on to start the program "Courage to Change" where he helped many individuals overcome
drug addiction and start new career paths. Geno was best known for his service to others and
his selfless heart.
Geno is survived by his wife Debbie DeHerrera, his children Gene and Vicki DeHerrera and
Aaron and Leanne DeHerrera. Geno has 6 grandchildren MaKayla and Scott Kirk, Austin
DeHerrera, Nick DeHerrera, Ryan DeHerrera and Rylee DeHerrera. Geno has one Great
Grandson Levi Kirk. He was preceded in death by his grandson Craig DeHerrera and parents
Esther and Andreas DeHerrera.
A viewing for Eugene D. DeHerrera (Geno) will be held on January 16 th from 1 to 5 at the San
Andreas Mortuary. The funeral will be held in his honor on January 17 th at 10:00 a.m. at the
Mountain Ranch Community Center.
