It is with great sadness that the family of Gene Coleman announce his passing on March 19, 2023 at 77 years old. He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 58 years, Linda Coleman; his children: Jeanne Walker and her husband Mel Walker, Mark Coleman and his wife Chelsa Coleman, Mike Coleman; his grandchildren: Melvin Walker, Melissa Walker and her husband Ryan Holloway, Shiree Coggin and her husband Zac Coggin, Michael Coleman, Cassandra Coleman, Mason Coleman, Megan Coleman, Billie Coleman; his great grandchildren: Julian Holloway, Zachary Coggin, Caydance Holloway, Chase Walker, Brookelynn Holloway, Paitynn Coggin, Elena Walker, Bentley Coggin. Along with extended family and friends.

Gene Coleman is preceded by his parents Stella and Roy Coleman, and his sister Bev Claypool.

Gene was born December 29, 1945 in Richmond Ca to Stella and Roy Coleman. Growing up, Gene played football and was one heck of a player and, could have went to college to play. Gene went to work at an early age digging holes for 50 cents before he started driving truck. After truck, he worked for 25 years as an excavator operator and eventually retired.

He met the love of his wife Linda when they were 16 and 17 years old. Together they built a life together and welcomed three children, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. They lived In Calaveras County since 1983.Family meant everything to Gene. Gene was a loving man and welcomed almost everyone with open arms. Gene had a love for fishing. He loved sharing this hobby with his children and his grandchildren. Most summers when the grandchildren were between 7-15, you would find Gene at the campgrounds at Cherry Lake or Spicer where he would take weeklong camping trips with his grandchildren. Gene lived a wonderful loving life surrounded by his family, friends and most importantly his love, Linda.

Services will be held Friday March 31, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the San Andreas Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Carter's Cemetery in Tuolumne, CA.
