Mrs. Beverly M. Burton (Filippini)

Beverly Mae Burton passed away peacefully in her home on April 28th, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was 93 years old. Beverly was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, and friend that will be remembered for her strength and her strong love for her family.

Beverly was born on September 5th, 1932, in Angels Camp, CA to Charles Edward Filippini and Lillian Norrine (Jasper) Filippini. Beverly grew up in Calaveras County and graduated from Calaveras High School in 1950. A few months before graduation, Beverly met William "Bill" Burton at the skating rink in the San Andreas Town Hall. They quickly fell in love and were married seven months later on September 16th, 1950. Beverly and Bill were married for 70 wonderful years that they spent raising their family, working on the ranch, and traveling.

Beverly, a homemaker and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, dedicated her life to her family. She always supported her children and grandchildren in their activities and faithfully cheered them on at school events, sports, and games. As her roots in Calaveras County meant so much to her, Beverly was passionate about researching and preserving the history of both her family and community. She was very proud of being born and raised in this county and loved raising animals on the ranch that her great-grandfather started in the 1890s. Additionally, Beverly formerly served as one of the directors of the Calaveras County Historical Society, and she was instrumental in the development and opening of the Red Barn Museum in San Andreas.

Beverly will be greatly missed and remembered by her children Brenda (Dennis) Bayers, Karen Burton (Roger Hadow), and Brad (Shellie) Burton, and her seven grandchildren: Joe Auld, Shawna Holm, Robin Glanville, Kevin Burton-Crow, Krista Celestin, Erin Berlier, Leah Sullivan, as well as their families, and her fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Burton, in 2021.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on Sunday May 31st, 2026, from
2:00-4:00pm at the Pickle Patch in San Andreas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Calaveras County Historical Society, Red Barn Museum, or Hospice of Amador & Calaveras.
