Patricia Miller Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Patricia Miller announces her passing on April 11, 2026. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Patricia was the firstborn child of Fred and Mildred Schaffer. She was born in October of 1941 in Paul, Idaho. Her family later moved to California, where they established their home and welcomed four more children, all of whom she deeply adored.

Patricia met her husband in 1959, and they married soon after, building a life centered on love and family. Together, they raised two children and eventually chose to move to the mountains, seeking a peaceful, nature-filled environment in which to raise their family. Though the transition came with its challenges, Patricia embraced the change and brought a sense of joy and adventure to everyday life.

She was known for her strong work ethic, creativity, and determination. Before starting her family, Patricia owned and operated her own beauty shop. She later worked alongside her husband building custom homes, contributing to every stage of the process—from designing floor plans to laying tile, painting, and even carpentry. She was known for her willingness to take on any task, often while also caring for others, including preparing meals for the entire crew.

Patricia found joy in many simple pleasures, including cooking, sewing, shopping—especially at garage sales—and volunteering at her grandchildren's elementary school. Above all, she cherished her family, generously giving her time, love, and attention, ensuring those around her felt deeply cared for.

She will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the lasting impact she had on those who knew her. Her family finds comfort in the thought of her reunited with loved ones who passed before her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Amador for their compassion, care, and support during this time. Their kindness provided comfort and precious time together that will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Patricia's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory may make donations to Hospice of Amador at hospiceofamador.org
