Ted Allen Simon was born on January 17, 1953 to Jack and Blanche Simon in Monterey California.
Ted lived and attended school in Seaside, until his parents bought 7 acres of land on highway 156, in Castroville, where they would go on to build a family home, store and several rental units. This land would affectionately come to be known as Simonville. Ted attended Alisal high school and graduated in 1971. In his youth Ted loved working on cars and singing lead in his band, "Soul Inspiration".
Ted welcomed his only son Oscar into the world in May of 1979, who would also be raised in Simonville. Ted spent many years living in San Francisco, where he enjoyed meeting people and "rippin' and runnin" through California.
Ted was a true friend until the end. Ted loved his friends and there was nothing he wouldn't do for them. In recent years, Ted developed strong and loving relationships with his grandchildren. Ted stopped by often to visit, was a regular at all the sporting events, and never missed a birthday dinner. His presence at our holiday table will be greatly missed.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Gene; sister Sharon; many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins; and his best friend Dave.
Ted leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Oscar (Ashleigh); grandchildren; Jeremiah Simon, Eastin Jennings, Emery Jennings, and his best buddy Jack Simon. Ted also leaves his siblings: Rodney, Brenda, Jacqueline, Susie, Janice, Audrey, Jack "JC" , and Alice; and a host of relatives and
friends.
A service for Ted will be held on December 13, 2024 at the Monterey Cemetery at 1pm.
