Todd Jorgen Bennion, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend, passed
away unexpectedly on June 21, 2025, at the age of 36, in Valley Springs, California.
Born on March 1 st , 1989 in Jackson, California, Todd was the beloved son of Lee
Bennion and the late Paula Bennion. Growing up in a large family alongside siblings Jim
Bennion (Kim), Julie Retzlaff (Darryl), Justin Bennion (Monica), Brian Bennion (Kerrie),
and Laurie Pope (Chris), Todd learned early the importance of family, which became the
cornerstone of his life.
A graduate of Amador High School's Class of 2007, Todd was well-known and admired
for his humor, warmth, steadfast nature, and trustworthy character. He met his lifelong
love, Samantha, in 2014, and the two married three year later in 2017. Together they
built a beautiful life, blessed by three sons: Dylan, Warren, and Alden; who became his
greatest joys.
Todd proudly served his community as a correctional officer from July 2020, earning the
respect of his colleagues for his dedication and integrity. Outside of work, he cherished
every moment with his sons—coaching T-ball games, exploring the great outdoors,
playing golf and bowling, and being actively involved in his son's baseball league. Todd
was a well-loved fixture within the community and will be dearly missed by all.
Todd is survived by his loving wife, Samantha; sons Dylan, Warren, and Alden, father
Lee Bennion (Denise), his siblings and their families, and many aunts, uncles, cousins,
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Paula Bennion, and
grandparents Sterling and Leora Bennion and Jorgen and Eldis Jensen.
Friends and family are invited to honor Todd's memory at 10a.m. on July 12 th , 2025, at
